Audi has finally marked its official entry into Formula 1. The German manufacturer unveiled its first Formula 1 car, the Audi R26, during a livery launch in Berlin on Wednesday, January 22, 2026, evening WIB.
This moment marks a historic milestone for Audi, stepping onto the pinnacle of four-wheel racing as a constructor for the first time.
The Audi R26 features a striking debut livery combining silver, orange, and black—a visual identity reflecting Audi's performance DNA and their new direction in Motorsport.

This car will compete in this season's Formula 1, symbolizing the beginning of Audi's long journey in the most competitive racing series.
For Audi, the Formula 1 project isn't just about racing but a statement of the company's long-term vision.
"This project drives the entire Audi, reflecting our transformation toward a culture increasingly prioritizing performance, efficiency, and innovation, with the long-term ambition to fight for the World Championship title by 2030," said Audi CEO Gernot Dollner in a written statement on Thursday, January 23, 2026.
Behind the R26's appearance lies the collective work of a team built since Audi declared its interest in entering Formula 1 in 2022.
The Audi team will officially compete fully as a constructor in the 2026 season, but the R26's introduction confirms their seriousness in laying early foundations.
Audi Revolut F1 Team Principal Jonathan Wheatley described the R26 as the result of hard work from all team elements—a product born from a lengthy process, not an instant decision.
Enthusiasm also comes from Asian markets, including Indonesia, a key Audi base. The R26 launch is seen as the start of a significant journey rich in technological meaning and brand identity.
"This season begins an exciting journey, and we anticipate How the spirit of Vorsprung durch Technik will be realized by Audi on Motorsport's global stage," said Chief Operating Officer of Audi Indonesia Edo Januarko Chandra.
Beyond the car, Audi also introduced its driver duo for their Formula 1 campaign.
Nico Hulkenberg and Gabriel Bortoleto will lead their efforts, both bringing solid performances from their previous season with Kick Sauber.
Hulkenberg secured his first Formula 1 podium—a significant career achievement—while Bortoleto ended his debut season with impressive consistency through five point-finishes.
This blend of experience and young energy is expected to form a strong foundation for Audi in navigating their initial F1 challenges.
With the Audi R26, the four-ring manufacturer officially opens a new chapter. World championship ambitions may still be distant, but the first step has been taken.
