Shayne Pattynama's journey in Thailand has officially ended. Thai League giant club Buriram United announced the departure of the Indonesian National Team left-back. This opens a new chapter in the 26-year-old player's career with strong rumors pointing to Persija Jakarta.

The farewell announcement was made by Buriram through their official social media, marking the end of Pattynama's brief spell at one of Southeast Asia's most dominant clubs.

"Buriram United Football Club would like to thank Shayne Pattynama for his commitment and professionalism during his time at the club. We wish him success in his career and the best for his next journey," wrote Buriram via their official Instagram on Friday, January 23, 2026.

Pattynama spent only half a season with Buriram United after being recruited from KAS Eupen in July 2025. During that short period, the Indonesian national team's main left-back recorded 10 appearances across all competitions with three assists.

Pattynama's last match with Buriram occurred on January 14, when his club won 4-0 against Pattani FC in the Thailand FA Cup.

In that match, he came on as a substitute and played for about 25 minutes.

Following the announcement, rumors of Pattynama's move to Persija Jakarta have grown stronger. The Kemayoran Tigers are reportedly targeting Pattynama to strengthen their squad for the second round of BRI Super League.

If this transfer materializes, Pattynama will follow several Indonesian national teammates who previously chose to continue their careers in the nation's top-flight competition. They include Jordi Amat, Thom Haye, Rafael Struick, and Eliano Reijnders.

Persija coach Mauricio Souza addressed the rumors during Thursday's pre-match press conference against Madura United.

"Regarding rumored incoming players, the definite arrivals are three players: Alaeddine Ajaraie, Fajar Fathurrahman, and Paulo Ricardo. Fajar is already available to play with us, but we don't know yet about Aladin and Paulo's availability," said Souza.

He expressed confidence in the potential of new players joining the team.

"But I believe incoming players will certainly help us. They'll train well. So even if unavailable against Madura United, they could feature against Persita," he added.

Persija Jakarta currently sits third in the provisional standings with 35 points.

The Jakmania's pride is scheduled to open the second round against Madura United at Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium, Jakarta, Friday at 7:00 PM WIB.
