Cianjur is becoming a tourist favorite in West Java. The Culture and Tourism Office (Disbudpar) of Cianjur Regency recorded that from January to August 2025, over 1.1 million tourists, both domestic and international, have visited.
The Head of Disbudpar Cianjur Regency, Ayi Reza Addairobi, stated that his office is optimistic this number will continue to rise until the end of the year.
Moreover, several major regularly held events are believed to be able to attract even more tourists.

"We remain optimistic that the number of visitors to various tourist destinations in Cianjur can reach the target of 3 million people by the end of the year through various efforts, including holding annual activities in collaboration with tourism stakeholders," he said in Cianjur on Wednesday.
Based on Disbudpar data, as of August 2025, the number of tourists visiting Cianjur reached 1,157,077 people.
Of that number, 1,046,724 were domestic tourists and the other 110,353 were international tourists.
These visitors are spread across various tourist destinations, from the northern to the southern areas of Cianjur.
The northern region remains the main magnet, with Cibodas Botanical Gardens and Taman Bunga Nusantara (Archipelago Flower Garden) as tourist favorites.
On the other hand, the eastern region offers water tourism and historical sites, while the southern part is known for its series of waterfalls, beaches, and enchanting traditional villages.
"Natural attractions favored by tourists include Cibodas Botanical Gardens, Taman Bunga Nusantara, and man-made natural attractions in the northern region, water tourism in the eastern area of Cianjur, and waterfall and beach tourism in the southern region of Cianjur," said Ayi.
To continuously boost tourist interest, Disbudpar is also actively intensifying promotion through various methods, ranging from collaborations with influencers and national media to involving several artists to introduce Cianjur's tourist charm.
"The regional government supports the development of tourist destinations, including providing training and guidance for tourism stakeholders, as well as improving roads leading to tourist sites," he said.
The Head of the Tourism Marketing Division of Disbudpar Cianjur Regency, Tita Rosilawati, added that Cianjur's strength lies in the diversity of its tourism offerings.
From mountain and plantation tourism in the north, religious tourism in the city center, to beaches and traditional villages in the south — each has its own distinct appeal.
"Cianjur Regency has various tourist destinations that other regions do not possess, thus attracting tourists to come for holidays," she explained.
Tita also hopes the community will play a part in promoting local tourism.
"We ask residents near tourist destinations and tourists themselves to help promote the various tourist destinations in Cianjur, making them known to various groups both domestically and internationally, in addition to promotion through various media," she hoped.
With increasingly intensive promotional strategies and community support, Cianjur is ready to move towards its ambitious target: three million visitors by the end of 2025.(Antara)
