Jordi Cruyff, Technical Advisor of the Indonesian National Team, is reported to be starting a new chapter in his Football executive career. Leading Dutch media De Telegraaf stated on Monday, 29/12/2025 that the son of legend Johan Cruyff has reached an agreement to become Technical Director of Dutch giants Ajax Amsterdam.
The contract, believed to run until mid-2028, will make Cruyff the "football boss" with full responsibility for the club's competitive direction. He is projected to replace Alex Kroes and described as Ajax management's "dream candidate." Intensive week-long negotiations were finalized during talks in Barcelona last Weekend.
However, reports indicate Cruyff will likely only assume full duties after the winter transfer window closes. For now, transfer policies will remain managed by Marijn Beuker with Kroes' guidance.

This move further cements the Cruyff family's legacy at Ajax. Jordi is no novice in executive roles, having proven his capabilities as Technical Director at AEK Larnaca (Cyprus) and Maccabi Tel Aviv (Israel). His pinnacle experience came as FC Barcelona's Sports Director from 2021 to 2023, after initially joining as an advisor.
Following a major overhaul that ended collaborations with most Dutch-blooded coaching staff, only three names remain with PSSI: Jordi Cruyff as Technical Advisor, Alexander Zwiers as Technical Director, and Simon Tahamata as Head of Talent Development.
They were not part of Patrick Kluivert's contingent that departed after Indonesia's failure to qualify for the 2026 World Cup.
