Saudi Arabia has marked another significant milestone in transforming its tourism and religious sectors. Through its latest policy, the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah confirmed that holders of all types of visas can now perform Umrah while in the Kingdom.
This policy is not merely an administrative innovation but part of the broader Saudi Vision 2030 strategy, positioning the spiritual experience as an integral aspect of the global tourism destination.
The move opens wider access for Muslims worldwide, including those arriving on tourist visas, family visas, transit visas, or work visas. Thus, Umrah is no longer limited to pilgrims coming through special channels but becomes a spiritual opportunity for anyone present in the Holy Land.

The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah explained that this policy is designed to simplify the permit process, expedite services, and enhance pilgrim comfort. In line with this, Saudi Arabia has also introduced the digital platform "Nusuk Umrah," an integrated system enabling prospective pilgrims to book Umrah packages, manage permits, and flexibly choose performance times in just a few steps via digital devices.
This innovation showcases a new face of Saudi Arabia—increasingly open and modern while upholding its spiritual values. The government emphasized that every such convenience reflects the commitment of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the Crown Prince to provide a safe, comfortable, and meaningful worship experience.
Beyond being a religious policy, this initiative also reflects the synergy between spiritual journeys and cultural tourism. Supported by modern infrastructure, international-standard hotel services, and efficient transportation systems, Saudi Arabia is transforming into a premium religious destination that unites spiritual grandeur with luxurious travel experiences.
