The Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Agency recommends several travel itineraries to enjoy during the early school holidays and weekends, delivering inclusive and vibrant vacation experiences.

JIS Funtastic Carnival: Sports, Culinary, and Night Market Excitement

At Jakarta International Stadium's (JIS) east parking area, holiday vibes emerge from afternoon onward. JIS Funtastic Carnival blends night market concepts with Sports activities, culinary bazaars, and diverse games, appealing across generations.

Open Monday-Friday 3:00 PM–10:00 PM, with Weekend/holiday hours 7:00-10:00 AM and 3:00-10:00 PM. An ideal option for leisure time without leaving the city.

Christmas Creative Market at Lapangan Banteng

Year-end festivities come alive at the Christmas Creative Market in Gambir, Central Jakarta. This event gathers culinary, fashion, craft entrepreneurs and Christmas decorations in one warm, friendly open space.

Beyond shopping, visitors enjoy stage entertainment. Running Saturday-Sunday (December 20-21, 2025), 10:00 AM–10:00 PM. Notably, this event is free and open to the public.

Jakarnaval at Ancol Beach Festival

Jakarta's signature celebration returns through Jakarnaval at Ancol Beach Festival. Held seaside, it features colorful parades, music performances, and inspirational talks with domestic intellectual property (IP) creators.

Beach scenery, sea breezes, and crashing waves create a natural backdrop enhancing the festive atmosphere. Visitors can also enjoy performances by Nella Kharisma, the artist behind the hit "Jaran Goyang."

Setu Babakan Cultural Arts Festival

Setu Babakan, Jagakarsa, South Jakarta, again becomes a Betawi cultural stage through this festival on December 20-21, 2025 (2:00-10:00 PM). 

Attendees witness Betawi dances, lenong theater, gambang kromong music, ondel-ondel puppets, tanjidor ensembles, and other performances representing Jakarta's local identity.

This year features added splendor with the Light Festival showcasing video mapping/hologram displays across 11 locations. 

This free public event involves approximately 35 art studios.

City Creation Festival: An Ideas Gathering Space

For creators, communities, or those believing ideas can energize cities, the City Creation Festival provides a relevant meeting space. 

It features work exhibitions, music and art performances, talkshows, and creative activations that make the city feel more alive.

Held free of charge at Gedung AA Maramis Courtyard, Jakarta.
