Details of Rizky Ridho's New Contract Revealed! Persija Includes Unique Clause

Persija Jakarta ends speculation about their captain Rizky Ridho's future with a new contract lasting until 2028. Behind this agreement lie several clauses that will become a major story for the Kemayoran Tigers.

Persija Jakarta Director, Mohamad Prapanca, revealed that this new contract isn't just an extension of duration but also includes specific mechanisms should Ridho receive an opportunity to pursue his career overseas. 

According to him, Persija wants to provide room for the development of the Indonesian national team defender without losing control over his future.

Under this new scheme, Ridho is permitted to accept offers from foreign clubs before his Persija contract expires. 

However, once his loan period or contract with the foreign club concludes, Ridho is obligated to return to Jakarta to fulfill the remainder of his contract with Persija.

"It's not that we are releasing him; the agreement will replace his current contract duration. So in this contract, we agreed that if during his journey Rizky Ridho decides to play for another club for a certain period, that time replaces the currently running contract. So when that contract finishes, he returns to us," stated Prapanca at the Persija Office, South Jakarta, Friday 28 November 2025.

Persija also ensures that as long as his contract remains valid, Ridho will not switch jerseys to another club in Indonesia.

"(A move to) Foreign clubs. In the agreement, he will not move to a local (Indonesian) club while his contract (is valid)," emphasized Prapanca.

When asked if the overseas clause only applied to European clubs, Prapanca stressed that this was still negotiable.

"That will be agreed upon later by Persija and Rizky Ridho," he said.

Rizky Ridho has earned 47 caps with the Indonesian National Team. He joined Persija from Persebaya Surabaya in April 2023. 

Since then, he has consistently performed as a defensive pillar, making a total of 72 appearances, scoring three goals, and providing two assists for the club beloved by The Jakmania.

Furthermore, Prapanca revealed the main reason Ridho decided to stay was finding comfort at Persija, both professionally and personally.

"In my opinion, he feels he is part of the Persija family and he is quite comfortable with what we have done until today, and of course, Persija's openness to Rizky Ridho's own future development," explained Prapanca.

He emphasized that Ridho's decision wasn't due to pressure but a conscious choice by a player who feels he is in the right place.

"I also believe that Rizky Ridho consciously and without coercion from any party chose to remain with Persija," he added.

With this new contract, Persija not only secures the 24-year-old defender but also sends a message that the Kemayoran Tigers are building a long-term project with a figure they consider the foundation of their defense for the present and the future. (Antara)
