Despite collecting only three points, the fighting spirit of the Indonesia U-17 squad has left an unforgettable historical mark. The 2-1 victory over Honduras in the last Group H match in Doha on Monday, November 10, 2025, became a golden moment for national football.
According to FIFA's official website, this victory was not only Indonesia's first in the U-17 World Cup, but also their inaugural win across all World Cup final rounds - both senior level and any age-group tournaments they've participated in.

Even more proudly, this victory establishes Indonesia as the only ASEAN nation to have ever recorded a win at the U-17 World Cup. Previously, Thailand appeared twice in the 1997 and 1999 editions but failed to earn any points.
With this result, Indonesia has written history not just for itself, but for the entire Southeast Asian region.
A Journey Full of Lessons Across Two Editions
Indonesia has now participated in two U-17 World Cups (2023 and 2025). As hosts in 2023, Garuda Muda collected two points from draws against Ecuador (1-1) and Panama (1-1), while losing to Morocco (1-3).
Two years later at Qatar 2025, Nova Arianto's squad achieved slightly better results. After defeats to Zambia (1-3) and Brazil (0-4), they rallied to defeat Honduras 2-1.
Garuda Muda's goals came from Evandra Florasta (52nd minute) and Fadly Alberto (72nd minute), while Honduras' lone reply came from Luis Suazo (54th minute).
Garuda Muda's Goal Trail
Throughout their two U-17 World Cup appearances, Indonesia has scored six total goals. Arkhan Kaka contributed two goals, while Muhammad Nabil Asyura, Muhamad Zahaby Gholy, Evandra Florasta, and Fadly Alberto each scored once.
Leaving a Historic Legacy
Indonesia finished third in Group H with three points from three matches. Unfortunately, goal difference diminished Garuda Muda's chances of advancing to the round of 32 as one of the best third-place teams.
However, this result doesn't obscure the fact that the young Red-and-White squad has written a new chapter in the nation's football history. No longer just participants, Indonesia is now recorded as the first ASEAN team to win at the U-17 World Cup.
This victory represents more than three points - it's a symbol that Indonesian football's grand dreams are beginning to find their path.
