Tuchel Is Not Satisfied Even Though England Have Reached the Semi-Finals: We Were Lucky Today

England national team head coach Thomas Tuchel admitted his side benefited from a stroke of luck as they knocked Norway out with a 2-1 scoreline in the 2026 FIFA World Cup quarter-finals. Despite securing their ticket to the semi-finals, the German manager assessed that The Three Lions had yet to demonstrate their peak quality.

According to the former Chelsea manager, this positive result must not allow England to ignore the clear weaknesses that were visible throughout the fixture against Norway. He is demanding his side deliver a more solid, consistent display against their next opponent.

Elsewhere, Jude Bellingham named mentality as the core factor that allowed England to mount their comeback. The Real Madrid midfielder stated that the squad's refusal to surrender became their greatest asset when the match was not unfolding as planned.

"Character and grit carried us through this game. Even when our play was not working, we gave absolutely everything we had", Bellingham remarked.
