Bogor Regency – PSSI has officially opened a vacancy for the head coach position of the Indonesian National Team following Patrick Kluivert's dismissal. The Dutch coach's contract was terminated after he failed to lead the Garuda squad to qualify for the 2026 World Cup.

Responding to this development, football observer Ronny Pangemanan revealed several names potentially in line for the national team coaching role. Ronny disclosed he had discussed coaching candidate criteria with PSSI Chairman Erick Thohir.

Ronny sensed PSSI's seriousness in seeking a figure with not only quality but also higher qualifications than the previous coach.

"From my conversation conclusion with Erick Thohir, PSSI wants to secure the best coach," stated Ronny at ITSME.co.id studio.

List of Classy Candidates
Ronny analyzed several names worthy of PSSI's consideration, including domestic and international coaches with impressive reputations:

Line-up of Top European Coaches
PSSI appears serious in the recruitment process. Big names like Roberto Mancini (ex-Saudi Arabia coach) and José Mourinho (Benfica coach) were mentioned by Ronny as strong contenders.

Dutch Coaches with Distinct Advantages
Mark van Bommel and Giovanni van Bronckhorst are also on the radar. Van Bronckhorst is noted for his Maluku heritage and recent experience as Arne Slot's assistant at Liverpool FC, giving him elite-level modern football insight.

Asia-Experienced Coaches
Asian experience remains crucial. Ronny cited names like Jesús Casas (ex-Iraq coach) and Timur Kapadze (architect of Uzbekistan's success). Japanese coaches, known for strong tactical philosophies, were mentioned as realistic options.

Candidates from Indonesian League
Domestic talent isn't overlooked. Coaches shining in Indonesia's Super League include former PSM Makassar coach Bernardo Tavares, Persib Bandung's Bojan Hodak, and Dewa United's Jan Olde Riekerink.

Challenges Ahead
Despite promising candidates, Ronny highlighted practical challenges, especially for coaches currently under club contracts.

"The issue is whether their clubs will release them?" emphasized Ronny, underscoring potential obstacles for PSSI in acquiring active coaches.

With diverse candidates available, the public awaits PSSI's strategic move to select the right leader for Indonesia's National Team facing future challenges.
