Indonesia U-17 will face a crucial match against Brazil in the second game of Group H at the 2025 U-17 World Cup. After falling 1-3 to Zambia in their opening match, Nova Arianto's squad sits third in the provisional standings with zero points and a minus-two goal difference.

Although their chance to advance to the Round of 32 isn't closed, the Young Garudas face a significant challenge. They will encounter a world-class team that just routed Honduras 7-0.

Nova Won't Change Formation Much

Indonesia U-17 coach Nova Arianto stated he won't overhaul the team for their second Group H match against Brazil.

"The formation will likely stay the same. Brazil is one of the tournament favorites," Nova said at Aspire Academy's mixed zone in Doha on Tuesday.

This decision shows Nova's faith in the same lineup used against Zambia, despite the unsatisfactory first-match result.

The main focus now isn't just tactics, but his players' courage and character on the pitch.

Key Asset: Young Garudas' Mental Strength

Facing opponents like Brazil, Nova emphasized the importance of mental fortitude. He doesn't want his players feeling defeated before kickoff.

"I told the players: never be afraid before we compete. Let's just try our best and test our limits," he said.

"Hopefully the players will show greater bravery and readiness against Brazil," Nova added.

For Nova, an unyielding spirit is crucial given the gap in experience and quality between the teams. The Young Garudas must play freely without pressure, maximizing every opportunity.

Brazil Leads Group, Indonesia Needs Upset

Meanwhile, Brazil U-17 delivered a terrifying opening performance. The young Samba squad demolished Honduras 7-0, putting them atop Group H with three points and a +7 goal difference.

This impressive display confirms Brazil's status as championship contenders, while Indonesia seeks consistency after an erratic showing against Zambia.

Do-or-Die Match Ahead

After facing Brazil, Indonesia will meet Honduras on November 10, 2025 in their final group match.

Only the top two teams and eight best third-place finishers advance to the knockout stage.

With tight standings, the Brazil result will be decisive for the Young Garudas' fate. Even one point could keep hopes alive, but a heavy loss might end them.

Everything now hinges on the Indonesian players' mentality and courage to challenge Brazil's giants on the global stage. (Antara)
