Chelsea secured a convincing 3-0 victory over AC Milan in the 2026 Indonesia Super Cup pre-season fixture held at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (SUGBK), Jakarta, on Saturday. Beyond the final match result, the atmosphere inside the stadium stands also became a major talking point for manager Xabi Alonso and head coach Ruben Amorim.

Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso specifically highlighted and praised the unwavering support from The Blues supporters throughout the match. He noted that the vibrant, charged atmosphere could already be felt long before kick-off even commenced.

"The support from our fans is absolutely fantastic. Their chants and cheers rang out well after full time, and they were already in full voice even before the match started. Our section of the stadium was unbelievably loud," Alonso stated during the post-match press conference.

Alonso conveyed his sincere appreciation to the fans for creating such an electric, enjoyable football atmosphere. This level of support also marked a valuable experience for the entire Chelsea squad during this stretch of their pre-season tour.

"I am just very happy that our people, our supporters, got to come and enjoy this match," he added.

Similar glowing praise came from AC Milan head coach Ruben Amorim. Despite the Rossoneri suffering a heavy defeat, the reception from Milan supporters in Indonesia left a deep, lasting impression on the coach.

"The fans here are truly incredible. The level of support they have shown us over these three days is nothing short of unbelievable," Ruben Amorim told media in his own post-match press briefing.

Amorim explained that this support was not limited only to match day. According to the coach, Milan fans had already welcomed the squad with overwhelming enthusiasm from the moment the team arrived in Jakarta on Thursday 6 August.

Chelsea's Clinical, Effective Display

Both sides opened the match at a cautious, slow tempo. Chelsea repeatedly probed Milan's defensive line with through balls directed into the heart of the penalty area, while the Rossoneri set up to hit fast counter-attacks built around the pace of Rafael Leao and Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

Chelsea broke the deadlock in the 45+2nd minute, as Joao Pedro headed home from a Moises Caicedo corner kick to give Chelsea a 1-0 lead at the half-time break.

Amorim made a double substitution to start the second half, bringing on Christopher Nkunku and Alexis Saelemaekers in place of Luka Modric and Samuel Chukwueze.

However, barely 60 seconds into the second half, Joao Pedro doubled Chelsea's advantage. This time the Brazilian forward finished cleanly from a measured through ball by Pedro Neto.

Milan ramped up pressure and created a series of dangerous chances, but Chelsea's organised, solid defence repeatedly shut down the Rossoneri before they could produce a finishing attempt.

Chelsea extended their lead further in the 51st minute, when Moises Caicedo fired home the loose ball following a Romeo Lavia corner kick.

Trailing 0-3, Milan attempted to push the tempo with direct long balls and quick attacking surges, while Chelsea switched to a patient, controlled game plan while remaining threatening on the counter.

No further goals were registered for the rest of the fixture, as Chelsea closed out the match to confirm a 3-0 victory.
