The government through the Ministry of Tourism (Kemenpar) launched the "Saatnya Liburan DiIndonesiaAja" campaign, an invitation to fill the 2025 Christmas and 2026 New Year holidays (Nataru) with exciting trips to various domestic destinations.
Kemenpar's Deputy Minister for Marketing, Ni Made Ayu Marthini, stated this campaign is a strategic step to increase the interest of domestic tourists in traveling during the long year-end holiday period.
"This campaign is also part of the DiIndonesiaAja movement and the Bangga Berwisata di Indonesia (BBWI) program, which aim to boost tourists' interest in traveling domestically, especially during the Nataru holiday season," said Ni Made in her statement in Jakarta, Thursday, October 23, 2025.

Boosting Domestic Tourism Interest
The "Saatnya Liburan DiIndonesiaAja" program targets 1.08 billion trips by domestic tourists in 2025. Through this campaign, Kemenpar is collaborating with various parties, from relevant ministries and institutions, state-owned enterprises (BUMN), tourism associations, to industry players, to provide special offers in the form of attractive travel packages accessible via Kemenpar's official social media channels.
During the Nataru holiday period, Kemenpar will also intensify digital promotions showcasing Indonesia's cultural richness, local traditions, culinary specialties, and leading destinations across the archipelago.
This effort is not only to attract tourists but also to cultivate public pride in vacationing within their own country.
"This policy is expected to create a conducive atmosphere for people celebrating Christmas and New Year," said Ni Made.
Safe and Affordable Holidays: Transportation Stimulus and Ticket Discounts
Kemenpar is not only preparing tourism promotions but also providing various transportation incentives so the public can vacation comfortably and affordably. These incentives include:
- A 30% discount on train fares for 1.5 million passengers (period: December 22, 2025–January 10, 2026).
- A 20% discount on Pelni ferry base fares for 405 thousand passengers (period: December 17, 2025–January 10, 2026).
- A reduction in ASDP port service fees for 227 thousand passengers and 491 thousand vehicles (period: December 22, 2025–January 10, 2026).
Not only land and sea transport, air passengers will also enjoy a 12–14% reduction in air ticket prices through the VAT Government Borne (DTP) scheme, fuel surcharge discounts, and lower avtur prices.
This policy applies to ticket purchases from October 22, 2025, to January 10, 2026, with the travel period between December 22, 2025, and January 10, 2026.
Encouraging a More Competitive Tourism Industry
Besides facilitating tourists, Kemenpar also invites tourism industry players to participate actively.
Hotels, travel agencies, restaurants, and transport providers are urged to offer attractive promotions during the holiday season, including discounts and bundled packages that encourage increased tourist spending.
"With the launch of the special Nataru stimulus and the Saatnya Liburan DiIndonesiaAja campaign, it is hoped that public movement and spending during the Nataru holiday period will increase, thereby also driving national economic growth, particularly from the tourism sector," said Ni Made Ayu Marthini.
