Indonesia National Team will play their Group A match of the 2026 ASEAN Hyundai Cup, also known as the 2026 AFF Cup, against Timor Leste in Chonburi, Thailand on Friday 31 July 2026. Will head coach John Herdman grant playing opportunities for the two players still awaiting their senior debut for the Garuda squad?

Against Cambodia, Herdman handed senior international debuts to three players: Mitchell Baker, Jens Raven, and Brian Fatari. All three delivered positive contributions during Indonesia's convincing 5-1 victory over Cambodia.

With those three having made their first senior appearance, only two players remain waiting for their full international cap: Rizky Eka Pratama and Tim Geypens. Both are in line to receive playing minutes when Indonesia face Timor Leste in their second Group A fixture.

Mitchell Baker Scores Hat-Trick On Debut

Mitchell Baker emerged as the most eye-catching player. The 19-year-old forward marked his senior debut by netting a hat-trick against Cambodia.

All three of Baker's goals came from five total attempts. Two finishes were set up by Thom Haye, while the third goal came from an assist by Eliano Reijnders.

"This is a dream come true. It is an incredible feeling. I would never be in this position without this team, the coaching staff, and every person who has supported me," Baker stated after the match.

Jens Raven Also Scores On Debut

Baker was not the only debutant to celebrate a goal: Jens Raven also found the net on his first senior appearance.

The Bali United forward came on to replace Baker in the 58th minute, before registering his name on the scoresheet in the 86th minute.

Prior to breaking into the senior squad, Raven progressed through every tier of Indonesia's youth national setup, representing the U-19, U-20, U-22 and U-23 sides. Across 29 youth international matches, he recorded a total of 17 goals.

Brian Fatari Delivers Solid Defensive Display

The third debutant was Dewa United defender Brian Fatari, who entered the pitch in the 69th minute replacing Shayne Pattynama. He showed calm composure while operating in the defensive line.

Tim Geypens And Rizky Eka In Line For Debuts

After three players enjoyed successful senior debuts, attention has shifted to Tim Geypens and Rizky Eka Pratama.

They are the final two players in the current Indonesia squad yet to record a senior international appearance.

The fixture against Timor Leste is set to give John Herdman the ideal chance to hand both players their first senior experience for the national team.
