The 2025/26 season has become an unpleasant period for three Indonesian National Team Players competing in Europe. Ole Romeny, Ragnar Oratmangoen, and Emil Audero have had to accept the bitter reality that the clubs they represent have been officially relegated from their respective leagues.
Oxford United, the second tier English League club where Romeny plays, have dropped down a division. The club owned by Erick Thohir finished the 2025/26 Championship season in 22nd position, and will compete in League One next season.
Oxford failed to escape the relegation zone after enduring a difficult campaign under two different head coaches, Matt Bloomfield and Gary Rowett.

Nicknamed The U's, the club were relegated alongside Leicester City and Sheffield Wednesday. Romeny was unable to make any significant contribution throughout the entire season.
This naturalised Indonesian national team striker was mostly used as a rotation option, only making 16 league appearances plus two FA Cup matches, without scoring a single goal or registering any assists.
As of this time, there remains no confirmation whether Romeny will stay with Oxford United for their League One campaign next season, or seek a new club in order to secure regular playing time.
Ragnar Oratmangoen is facing the exact same situation with FCV Dender in the Belgian League. FCV Dender finished dead last in the Jupiler Pro League regular season, collecting just 19 points from 30 matches.
FCV Dender's final attempt to avoid relegation via the play-off round against the second division promotion winner also ended in failure.
For this relegation play-off, FCV Dender faced Lommel SK, the side which also fields fellow Indonesian player Joey Pelupessy.
In the first leg, Oratmangoen came on as a substitute as Dender suffered a 3-2 defeat.
For the return leg, the 28-year old winger was named in the starting line-up, but the match only ended in a 0-0 stalemate.
This result confirmed Lommel SK's promotion, while FCV Dender were officially sent down a division.
Emil Audero suffered the same fate with Cremonese in Serie A. Cremonese were officially relegated after being blown out 4-1 by Como 1907 on the final matchday of the season.

Como, owned by the Hartono brothers, secured their qualification spot for the European Champions League through this victory, while Cremonese are forced to accept relegation down to Serie B.
Despite this outcome, Emil's individual performances throughout the season were actually fairly solid. The Indonesian National Team Goalkeeper featured in 34 matches and recorded 11 clean sheets. Unfortunately this contribution still was not enough to keep Cremonese from being relegated.
Meanwhile in Indonesia's domestic league, the only Indonesian National Team Player whose club suffered relegation this season is Muhammad Riyandi with Persis Solo.
