Cristiano Ronaldo successfully closed out the season with a championship trophy alongside Al Nassr, but the final chapter of this Saudi League campaign did not go entirely the Portuguese captain's way. Amid the euphoria of the title victory, Ronaldo had to abandon his ambition to finish as the league's top goalscorer once again.
CR7 delivered a blistering performance in the final match of the season, scoring two goals that secured Al Nassr a convincing 4-1 win and confirmed their Saudi Pro League title. Even so, these two additional goals were not enough for Ronaldo to overtake his rivals on the top scorers chart.
Ronaldo finished the season with 28 goals, settling for third position in the league goalscoring rankings. This tally fell behind Ivan Toney who registered 32 goals for Al Ahli, as well as Julian Quinones who netted 33 goals for Al Qadsiah.

The race for the golden boot went right down to the final matchweek. Ahead of the closing round of fixtures, Ivan Toney still led the Standings with a two-goal advantage over Quinones, making the Al Ahli striker the clear favourite to claim the Saudi League Golden Boot.
This dynamic completely shifted over the final 90 minutes of the season. Despite Al Ahli recording a dominant 4-1 victory against Al Khaleej with Toney playing the full match, the English striker failed to add to his goal count.
In contrast, Quinones produced an exceptional display as Al Qadsiah dismantled Al Ittihad by a 5-1 scoreline.
He scored a hat-trick that completely overturned the top scorers standings, and confirmed his position at the very top of the rankings at the final whistle.
Quinones' golden boot triumph capped a dramatic conclusion to this Saudi League season. Meanwhile Ronaldo will have to be satisfied with lifting the league championship trophy, without adding the individual top goalscorer award to his achievements this campaign.
