Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr has finally ended their long wait to lift the league title once again. A dominant 4-1 victory over Damac FC on the final matchday confirmed Cristiano Ronaldo and his teammates as champions of the Saudi Pro League 2025/2026.

Hosting the fixture at Alawwal Park on Friday 22 May WIB, Al Nassr played aggressively right from the opening minute. Jorge Jesus' side took full attacking initiative to ensure they would not let the trophy slip away in this season-deciding match.

This win against Damac saw Al Nassr finish top of the league table with 86 points. Meanwhile Damac were forced to accept the bitter reality of relegation, dropping down to 16th place with 29 points after being overtaken by Al Riyadh who ended the season on 30 points.

At the same time, Al Hilal also secured a 1-0 win over Al Feiha. However their final total of 84 points was not enough to retain their title, despite being the only unbeaten side across the entire campaign.

All focus fell upon Cristiano Ronaldo. The captain of the Portugal National Team finally claimed his very first Saudi League title after four seasons wearing Al Nassr colours. Ronaldo's long wait in the Middle East was rewarded with a decisive match-winning performance on the final day.

Al Nassr immediately applied sustained pressure from kickoff. The home side's pressure broke the deadlock in the 33rd minute, when Sadio Mané converted a header from a corner kick. With Al Nassr leading 1-0, the entire stadium erupted.

Jorge Jesus' squad were determined to kill off the match as early as possible. Al Nassr continued to ramp up their attacking intensity, though the scoreline remained unchanged going into the half time break.

Al Nassr maintained their full dominance after the restart, operating with more controlled patience when building up attacking moves.

Al Nassr extended their lead in the 51st minute through Kingsley Coman. The winger struck a precise placed shot from the edge of the penalty box which the visiting Goalkeeper was completely unable to reach.

Damac were given a brief lifeline when VAR detected a handball offence by Mohamed Simakan inside the penalty area. Morlaye Sylla stepped up to convert the penalty, pulling a goal back to make the score 2-1 in the 57th minute.

Al Nassr restored their comfortable advantage in the 62nd minute, with Ronaldo firing home to make it 3-1. Ronaldo then scored his second goal of the match in the 80th minute.

This final goal confirmed the 4-1 victory, and officially locked in the 2025/2026 Saudi Pro League championship title for Al Nassr.
