Brazil National Football Team Announces 2026 World Cup Squad, Neymar Makes Comeback

Neymar Junior has received another call-up to represent the Brazil National Team for the 2026 World Cup. The Santos-born forward is included in the squad list selected by Brazil's newly appointed head coach, Carlo Ancelotti.

This call-up carries special meaning for Neymar, as this marks the very first time he has been selected for the Seleção squad under Ancelotti's leadership.

"This is not just 26 names. These are 26 hearts holding the same dream of achieving glory," stated the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) via its official Instagram account on Tuesday, 19 May 2026.

Brazil will compete at the 2026 World Cup hosted across Canada, Mexico, and the United States with a balanced squad combining senior veteran players and emerging young talents.

For the Goalkeeper position, Brazil maintains trust in the proven experience of Alisson Becker and Ederson Moraes, with the final slot filled by Weverton.

The defensive line is strengthened by regular national team fixtures including Marquinhos, Gabriel Magalhães, Alex Sandro, Bremer, and Danilo. Ancelotti also called up Douglas Santos, Gabriel Ibanez, Leo Pereira, and Wesley to the defence unit.

In midfield, Carlo Ancelotti retained established senior players Casemiro, Lucas Paquetá, and Bruno Guimarães. Fabinho earns a return to the Brazil squad after an absence, while Danilo dos Santos completes the midfield roster.

Up front, Brazil continues to build their attack around the threat of Vinicius Junior and Raphinha. Alongside Neymar, the forward line also includes Gabriel Martinelli, Endrick, Igor Thiago, Luis Henrique, Matheus Cunha, and Rayan.

Meanwhile, Chelsea forward João Pedro was omitted from the final Brazil squad, despite being a regular selection for Ancelotti during the March 2026 FIFA Match Day window.
