Persib Bandung successfully brought home three critical points against PSM Makassar in the ongoing 2025 Super League matchweek. Playing at BJ Habibie Stadium, Parepare on Sunday evening, 17 May 2026, Maung Bandung secured a dramatic 2-1 victory.
The match was fiercely contested from the opening whistle. Persib played with high aggression and took the first lead in the 34th minute via their star midfielder Thom Haye.

As the second half began, PSM Makassar pushed to turn the match around. The home side's efforts finally paid off in the 54th minute, when PSM captain Yuran Fernandes scored the equaliser with a header from a set piece situation.
With the score level at 1-1, the match opened up completely. Persib continued pressing for a winning goal, while PSM periodically threatened with fast counter attacks.
In the 79th minute, Persib nearly retook the lead through a chance for Andrew Jung, but his header drifted wide past the left post of PSM's goal.
Maung Bandung maintained their pressure as full time approached. In the 88th minute, Adam Alis received a clear golden opportunity right in front of goal, only for his close-range flick to drift just wide of the right post.
Just when the match appeared headed for a draw, Persib sealed the dramatic victory during stoppage time. Exactly in the 90+7th minute, Julio Cesar scored with a header after meeting Thom Haye's corner kick delivery.
This goal sparked immediate celebrations among the entire Persib squad, as it confirmed the vital 2-1 final victory over PSM Makassar.
In another concurrent match, Persib's main title rival for this Super League season, Borneo FC, failed to collect maximum points after being held to a 0-0 draw by Persijap Jepara at Gelora Bumi Kartini Stadium, Jepara.
This result confirms that the race for this season's Super League championship will go down all the way to the final matchweek of the competition.
At present, Persib Bandung remains firmly positioned at the top of the Standings with 38 points collected from 33 matches. Borneo FC trails closely in second place with 36 points from the same number of fixtures played.
