At this time, the 26-year-old athlete still does not feel fully recovered. She also lacks the full confidence required to compete again at the international elite level.
In her official resignation letter, Gregoria extended her gratitude to all PBSI management and coaching staff for the opportunities and shared journey throughout her time at the camp.
This decision was already communicated in advance to Imam Tohari, head coach of the PBSI National Training Camp senior Women's Singles division.
Eng Hian, Head of Athlete Development for PP PBSI, confirmed that the federation understands and fully respects Gregoria's choice.
"Gregoria is an athlete who has brought enormous contribution and pride to Indonesia. We honour the decision she has made, and wish nothing but the best for her health and future path," Eng Hian stated in an official PBSI press release published Friday.
Gregoria was long considered one of Indonesia's core women's singles talents. She served as a critical figure for Indonesian Badminton squad regeneration, and represented the Indonesian national flag on numerous international stages.
Twelve years immersed in elite competitive training forged Gregoria into one of the most experienced players in Indonesia's women's singles division.
PBSI has formally recognised Gregoria's dedication and service while competing for Indonesia across global tournaments. The federation also expressed hope for her full speedy recovery and success in all her future endeavours.
