UNESCO World Heritage Sites are spread across all regions of the planet. Three Asian nations hold prominent positions in the global top 10 ranking, demonstrating the strong footprint of Eastern civilisation on the world heritage map.
UNESCO does not designate sites arbitrarily. Every location must hold Outstanding Universal Value to humanity, this strict standard ensures the site carries exceptional significance for human history, culture, or the natural world.
As referenced from WorldAtlas, these listed sites range from ancient cities, historic structures, to iconic natural landscapes that serve as core symbols of national identity.
