Jakarta – The hope of seeing the Red and White flag fly on international golf podiums is no longer just a dream. Through an increasingly mature development system, The Junior Golf Series (JGS) Indonesia has officially rolled out the "red carpet" for young athletes to break onto the world stage. This major strategy in building the National Golf Ecosystem was thoroughly discussed in the latest episode of the ITSME Podcast, hosted by Raisha and Yatna at Royale Jakarta Golf Club, Saturday (18/4/2026).
Dissecting the future of these young athletes was General Chairman of JGS Indonesia, Rido Nurul Adityawan. Interestingly, this figure known for his high concern for early-age athlete development is also widely recognized by the public as the successful entrepreneur behind the legendary culinary brand, Ayam Gepuk Pak Gembus. The conversation revealed that the main mission of JGS this season is to break the chain of the "home advantage" phenomenon that often hinders the careers of local junior athletes.

JGS Indonesia 2026 comes with a highly organized competition structure. Throughout the season, 16 tournaments will be held using a performance-based Point Race System. This system isn't just about finding daily champions, but accumulating points to determine a nationally and globally recognized ranking. The pinnacle is the Indonesian Junior Masters 2026, which serves as the main selection gateway for the 16 best golfers to represent the country at the prestigious Asian Junior Masters.
As part of an international network based in Thailand and expanded to Korea, this platform now opens career paths to over 12 countries. Athletes have a golden opportunity to compete in various prestigious events like the Singapore Junior Masters, Thailand Junior Masters, Taiwan Junior Open, JGS Korea Championship, and the NextGen Amateur Tour in Australia. This strategic step is designed to acclimatize young Indonesian talents to the international competition atmosphere from an early age.
Mental Focus and Government Support
During the ITSME Podcast discussion, it was emphasized that golf is a sport heavily reliant on mental strength. Full concentration is an absolute requirement if athletes want to compete at regional or global levels. This aligns with the vision of PT Intra GolfLink Resorts, Tbk (PT IGR) as the main sponsor. Golflink Group General Manager, Agus Herwinoto, added that this event aims to educate athletes' character and mental resilience for tough competition. "This activity is not just a competition, but a breeding ground for Young Generations with steely mental fortitude," he explained.
However, this grand vision to propel athletes to the world level requires broader synergy. There is a strong hope that the government can provide more massive support to increase the frequency of activities nurturing young talents. Regulatory support and easier access to facilities from the government are believed to be the catalyst for the birth of new golf stars from Indonesia.
Birth of a New Champion Generation
Tangible evidence of this system's success began to appear at The JGS Elite International Championship, which concluded its series at Royale Jakarta Golf Club (28-30 April 2026). The fierce inter-country competition gave birth to new champions across various categories. Names like Passion Hsu and Jayawardana Dornan dominated Class A. Meanwhile, Mavis Chua and Abraraza Adriano Musyanif led Class B.
Local talent dominance continued in younger age classes. Qalesya Azkia Shanum and Arhata Putra Malik emerged as winners in Class C, followed by Milanka Azwar and Arsenio Ibrahim in Class D. In Class E, Charlotte Belva Sutrisna and Caius Yap impressed, alongside Karl Lee who became champion in Class F Boys. The success of these winners proves that JGS Indonesia has now become a "candradimuka" forge, ready to propel Indonesian "Tiger Golf" to the pinnacle of world achievement.
