Samarinda - The public's desire to experience the atmosphere of the World Cup celebration is often hindered by access and distance. Across the archipelago, the World Cup is not merely a spectacle but the most anticipated communal ritual. Recognizing this public thirst for quality entertainment, the East Kalimantan Provincial Government has innovated to ensure the 2026 tournament festivities aren't limited to urban centers.
Through the East Kalimantan Communication and Informatics Office (Diskominfo Kaltim), the government deployed a fleet of Mobile Videotron units designed as "digital open-air screens." This innovation proactively reaches community gathering spots, ensuring the euphoria of 104 World Cup matches can be experienced directly in public spaces near residential areas.
Diskominfo Kaltim Head Muhammad Faisal emphasized that this mobile infrastructure prevents mass crowds from concentrating solely in central locations like the Governor's Office yard.

"We aim to bring the World Cup atmosphere directly to the city's gathering points. With these mobile videotrons, strategic locations where residents usually relax can transform into mini-stadiums," Faisal told ANTARA at Kadrie Oening Sempaja Sports Complex, Samarinda, Sunday (3/5/2026).
This initiative also supports TVRI as the official free-to-air broadcaster. Faisal noted that while the broadcaster's extensive transmitter reach is vital, modern screens in city centers create unique emotional connections—social spaces for collective cheering.
To maintain orderly celebrations, Diskominfo Kaltim is finalizing technical guidelines for public viewing events, ensuring compliance with international broadcasting licenses. The government will even provide entertainment prizes at viewing locations to enhance communal excitement.
East Kalimantan residents now count down to being part of history. From the opening whistle on June 11 to the final match on July 19, 2026, these digital screens will Travel across Etam (East Kalimantan), guaranteeing no citizen misses the global Football celebration.
Beyond entertainment, this effort aims to inspire local Sports talents to dream of future world-stage appearances. The government urges all community elements to maintain order at videotron locations, transforming this moment into a safe, joyous celebration of unity through world-class football.
