The race for the BRI Super League 2025/2026 title enters a crucial phase, and momentum is now in the hands of Persib Bandung. Playing first in week 31, Maung Bandung has the opportunity to apply psychological pressure to their closest rival, Borneo FC.

Both teams currently have 69 points, but Persib leads the Standings thanks to the head-to-head advantage over Pesut Etam.

This situation makes every remaining match a must-win, as a defeat could have a significant impact on the end of the season.

After being displaced following Borneo's 1-0 win over Persik Kediri, Persib responded with an impressive 4-2 "comeback" victory over Bhayangkara Presisi Lampung FC.

Persib's four winning goals were scored by Federico Barba (45+2'), Berguinho (49'), Beckham Putra (60'), and Adam Alis (89'), replying to two goals from the hosts, courtesy of Henry Doumbia (6') and Moussa Sidibe (26').

Persib Bandung player Marc Klok stated that the dramatic win over Bhayangkara FC demonstrated his team's champion mentality.

"This is a champion's mentality, we have shown we deserve it. If you don't deserve it, if you don't play like you deserve it, the result won't favor you. So there's only one reaction, giving everything on the field, deserving to play for the club, and deserving to be champions," he said on the I.League website, Friday.

The additional three points returned them to the top and kept confidence high ahead of their next match.

Now, focus shifts to week 31. Persib will host PSIM Yogyakarta at the Gelora Bandung Lautan Api Stadium on Monday, May 4th at 15:30 WIB.

With PSIM struggling, winless in their last seven matches, Persib on paper has a great chance to secure three points and pressure Borneo before they take to the field.

Meanwhile, Borneo will only play a day later, facing Persita Tangerang at the Segiri Stadium in Samarinda.

Although Persita recently secured a win, their previously inconsistent performance still gives Borneo an opening to keep the competition alive.

Behind both, Persija Jakarta lurks with 62 points. Macan Kemayoran will visit the Persijap Jepara headquarters at the Gelora Bumi Kartini Stadium, hoping for a positive result while also hoping the two rivals above them slip up.

This week will open with a duel between Persebaya Surabaya versus PSBS Biak at the Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium.
