Jakarta will host the 2026 FIA Rallycross World Cup. The event, scheduled for December 5-6, 2026 at the Ancol E-Prix Circuit, is expected to further boost Sport Tourism in the capital city.

The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government is committed to providing full support to ensure the event's success and deliver a positive impact for the sports and tourism sectors.

Beyond the roar of engines lies a major ambition to strengthen Jakarta's position as a global destination.

According to DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung, the city's readiness relies not just on the race track, but also on increasingly integrated access.

"So many people don't know yet, starting this June, if you want to go to Ancol or Jakarta International Stadium (JIS), you can take the KRL (commuter line), so access is much easier, especially since TransJabodetabek now also runs from Ancol to Blok M. This makes it easy for everyone to reach that tourist area at a low cost," Pramono stated during a press conference for the 2026 FIA Rallycross World Cup in Jakarta.

Integrated transportation like the KRL and TransJabodetabek is not merely an additional facility, but part of the Travel Experience itself.

Ancol has long been known as a recreational space combining beaches, amusement parks, and sports venues. Now, with innovative touches, the area is projected to become a world-class Motorsport stage.

"Therefore, Ancol's facilities are highly qualified. I expect the new and still young Ancol Board of Directors to be open, transparent, and to encourage various sporting events that can be enjoyed and have a positive impact on the community," he explained.

This event is not just a competition, but part of the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile's global strategy to expand rallycross into new markets.

Indonesia, particularly Jakarta, becomes the gateway to Southeast Asia for this sport that blends rally speed with circuit racing intensity.

Rallycross offers a different sensation. The mixed-surface track, approximately 60% asphalt and 40% dirt, forces drivers to adapt in a split second.

Euro RX1 and RX3 cars speed off, competing fiercely in an aggressive and captivating wheel-to-wheel format.

The transformation of the Ancol E-Prix Circuit into a mixed-surface track also adds its own appeal.

Promoter SARGA.CO, together with the local government, will present a new, challenging configuration without losing the seaside circuit's unique character.

Beyond the arena, the effect ripples into the economic and tourism sectors.

Jakarta, contributing 16.61% to the national gross domestic product, sees this event as a momentum to sustain growth through Tourist Visits, team officials, and various global stakeholders.

The hope is that this inaugural hosting in the ASEAN region will spark similar events in the future.

It aims not only to provide a spectacle but also to open doors for Domestic Tourists and foreigners to experience Jakarta from a different perspective.
