Barcelona secured an important victory when they hosted Rayo Vallecano in week 29 of the 2025/26 La Liga season. Playing at Camp Nou on Sunday, 22 March 2026, evening WIB, Blaugrana won narrowly with a score of 1-0.

The only goal in this match was scored by Barcelona captain Ronald Araujo in the first half. The Uruguayan defender's header became the match-winner and secured an additional three points for the home team.

From the first whistle, Barcelona immediately played aggressively and dominated possession. Pressure after pressure was applied to Rayo Vallecano's defensive line.

However, the visitors briefly threatened first through Carlos Martin. Nevertheless, Goalkeeper Joan Garcia was able to save that opportunity well.

Barcelona started increasing the intensity of their attacks. In the 10th minute, Gerard Martin tried his luck with a long-range shot, but Augusto Batalla was able to anticipate it. The Rayo keeper shone again by thwarting Raphinha's chance in the 23rd minute.

The deadlock was finally broken in the 24th minute. Ronald Araujo successfully converted a corner kick delivered by Joao Cancelo with a sharp header that Batalla couldn't stop. That goal was the only one created in this match.

Rayo Vallecano tried to respond through a chance by Pathe Ciss, but his header still sailed over the crossbar. The 1-0 scoreline held until halftime.

Entering the second half, Barcelona remained in control of the game. Several more chances were created, including from Raphinha, but they were unable to extend their lead.

On the other side, Rayo Vallecano didn't stay idle either. Several attacks were launched through Alvaro Garcia and Unai Lopez, but the solid performance of Joan Garcia under the bar meant those chances failed to result in a goal.

Until the final whistle blew, the 1-0 score held for Barcelona's victory.

These additional three points further solidified Barcelona's position at the top of the provisional La Liga Standings with 73 points, seven points ahead of second-placed Real Madrid.

Meanwhile, Rayo Vallecano remains stuck in 14th place with 32 points, as reported by the official LaLiga website.
