At the western tip of Java Island, the white sandy coastline and blue sea of Tanjung Lesung feel increasingly closer. Not because nature has changed, but due to easier access. The operation of Serang-Panimbang Toll Road Section 2 marks a pivotal turning point for Travel to southern Banten, especially approaching the 2026 Eid holiday.

From March 12-26, the Rangkas-Cileles section operates toll-free for class I vehicles between 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM Western Indonesia Time.

This policy isn't merely infrastructure testing; it opens new routes for Jakarta tourists seeking escape from urban bustle to quieter shores.

Tanjung Lesung Director Poernomo Siswoprasetijo considers this toll road a game-changer.

Travel time previously requiring significant energy is now reduced to 2.5-3 hours – brief enough for spontaneous trips even during peak holiday season.

“With our market segmentation, tourist visits to Tanjung Lesung could reach approximately 25,000 visitors during the 2026 Eid holiday period from March 19 to March 31,” stated Poernomo.

Closer Tourism, Greater Diversity

Accessibility extends beyond distance to experiences. In this Special Economic Zone (KEK), tourists don't just enjoy beaches. Diverse activities await – from relaxation to education.

A unique attraction is the free-admission Mongolian Culture Center during holidays.

Here, Mongolian steppe ambiance emerges amidst Banten's tropical coast, creating striking cultural contrast.

Families gain meaningful experiences through educational activities: visiting turtle sanctuaries, releasing hatchlings into the sea, and joining coral reef Conservation programs.

These initiatives bridge recreation and environmental awareness – an increasingly relevant approach in modern tourism.

Maintaining Balance Amid Tourism Surges

Visitor spikes often pose double-edged challenges for Tourist Destinations. However, Tanjung Lesung management emphasizes commitment to Sustainable Tourism.

Throughout 2025 into 2026, the area balances tourist growth, experience quality, and environmental preservation.

Focus extends beyond visitor numbers to tourist interactions with nature and local communities.

“Our management prioritizes not only increasing visitors but creating memorable, sustainable experiences for the environment and surrounding communities,” Poernomo emphasized.

New Road, New Narrative

With Serang-Panimbang Toll Road Section 2 opening, Traveling to Tanjung Lesung transforms from mere destination into an integral experience.

Smoother roads enable new possibilities: spontaneous short trips, practical Family Holidays, and frequent nature explorations.

Beneath the asphalt lies a story of connectivity – how a road reshapes how people experience a place.
