NBA Young Star, Anthony Edwards stole the show at the NBA All-Star Game by capturing the Kobe Bryant Trophy as 2026 MVP after leading the USA Stars to championship victory at Intuit Dome.

Edwards emerged as the difference-maker in this year's competitive All-Star format. He scored 32 total points across three games, including a crucial performance in the finals where the USA Stars conquered the USA Stripes to secure the title.

“This means so much,” Edwards stated according to the National Basketball Association website.

During 26 minutes of play throughout the tournament, Edwards converted 13 of 22 field goals, including six three-pointers out of 15 attempts.

His consistency formed the foundation for the USA Stars' dominance, particularly in the championship game when he scored eight points on five shot attempts during his team's 12-1 surge – a lead that remained unchallenged until the final whistle.

Edwards' momentum was evident from the opening game, where his three-pointer forced overtime before the USA Stars secured victory.

That productivity carried into the championship game, cementing his MVP status.

The All-Star MVP trophy honors the late Kobe Bryant, a legend who earned the award four times during his 15 All-Star appearances.

Stephen Curry claimed the trophy in the previous edition held in San Francisco.

The MVP race remained fiercely contested. Kawhi Leonard drew attention after scoring 31 points for the USA Stripes during their 48-45 elimination of the World team.

Leonard sank 11 of 13 shots, including six of seven three-pointers, while adding two steals.

However, he managed just one point in the championship game as the USA Stars dominated from the outset.

Meanwhile, Victor Wembanyama delivered an impressive performance for the World team with 33 total points across two games, plus eight rebounds and three blocks.

Despite this, the World team's failure to reach the finals eliminated his MVP chances.

Amid the new format and heightened competitive intensity, Edwards solidified his position as the face of the NBA's new generation, with the 2026 All-Star serving as his defining stage.
