The English Premier League Transfer Window has officially closed, and the overall picture feels unusually subdued. While the majority of clubs opted for caution and retained their existing squads, Manchester City emerged as the most striking exception.

The Premier League giants became one of the most active clubs during the Winter Transfer Window

City brought in two players for significant fees: Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace and Antoine Semenyo from Bournemouth.

This move confirms the ambition of Pep Guardiola's side to remain aggressive, even as their main rivals chose to stay quiet.

The activity of English League Clubs overall was relatively flat.

Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester United, three big names usually busy in the transfer market, did not make any player signings at all.

Their focus was more on internal stability than squad overhaul.

Amid the scarcity of major transactions, Crystal Palace stole the spotlight. The London club broke their transfer record to sign Jorgen Strand Larsen from Wolverhampton Wanderers.

While many rivals waited for the summer, City chose to act now. The arrival of Antoine Semenyo from Bournemouth for £62.5 million adds significant firepower.

Meanwhile, Marc Guehi is projected to strengthen the defensive line.

This transfer activity also triggered a domino effect. Bournemouth lost Semenyo.

Crystal Palace parted with Guehi but immediately balanced it by bringing in Strand Larsen and Brennan Johnson.

A transfer window that seemed quiet on the surface still contained interesting dynamics, particularly among mid-table clubs.
