River currents and landscapes have become new attractions in Jembrana Regency, Bali. On the Island of the Gods, Tourism isn't just about beaches and sunsets, but also adventures immersed in nature, like river rafting in Batu Agung Village.

The Jembrana Regency Government supports community groups and private entities in developing River Rafting Tourism

This support was conveyed by Jembrana Regent I Made Kembang Hartawan while trying rafting activities at Gelar River on Friday.

According to Kembang, Gelar River holds great potential as an Adventure Tourism destination.

The dynamic river flow characteristics blend with natural landscapes—a rare combination in western bali.

"Gelar River crossing Batu Agung Village has potential as an Adventure Tourism site. Its course and currents are challenging yet beautiful," stated Kembang.

He noted the natural panorama along the river offers not just adrenaline but also relaxation space for tourists seeking outdoor adventures.

This concept aligns with Sustainable Tourism development.

Kembang emphasized Jembrana must maximize its natural wealth as eco-friendly tourist attractions without compromising ecosystem balance.

> "Jembrana has significant potential for eco-friendly Nature Tourism. Development requires collaboration BETWEEN private entities and local communities," he said.

He added that nature-based Tourism growth will directly benefit surrounding residents.

When destinations thrive, local economies flourish—from guide services to supporting businesses.

On-site, Gelar River River Rafting Tourism managers emphasize adventure as the core value.

Manager Ida Bagus Dewangkasa stated the river route offers unique natural challenges.

Beyond varying currents, tourists navigate large scattered rocks along the path, making each journey distinct and surprising.

Management operates collaboratively through Village-Owned Enterprises (Bumdes), Gelar Tourism Awareness Group (Pokdarwis), and local traditional villages. This model positions locals as primary stakeholders.

For Rp100,000, tourists receive full facilities: international-standard safety gear, insurance, and professional guide assistance.

"We also provide transportation for tourists staying in Jembrana who wish to visit," he said.

Through Gelar River rafting development, Jembrana gradually builds a new identity as a sustainable adventure destination.
