Sanur is not only known as a beach area with the calmest sunrise in Bali. On February 8, 2026, this eastern coastal region of the Island of the Gods is preparing to affirm its new identity as a premier Sport Tourism destination.

The Denpasar City Government confirms the Sanur Bali International Half Marathon 2026 is part of that strategy.

The international-scale running event is projected to attract over 5,000 domestic and international runners.

Denpasar Deputy Mayor, I Kadek Agus Arya Wibawa, emphasized that this event is not just a race, but a crucial moment to drive activity and experience-based Tourism

The Denpasar City Government, said Arya Wibawa, welcomes this major event positively and is ready to provide full support for its success.

According to him, the Sanur Bali International Half Marathon 2026 aligns with Denpasar's vision as a city that integrates healthy lifestyles, culture, and Sustainable Tourism.

"This activity also serves as a platform for Tourism Promotion of Denpasar to the world," he stated while receiving a meeting with the management of Prama Sanur Hotel as the organizer at the Denpasar Mayor's Office, Thursday, January 5, 2026.

From the organizer's side, similar enthusiasm was expressed by the Chairman of the Organizing Committee, who is also the General Manager of Prama Sanur Beach Bali Hotel, I Gusti Bagus Surya.

He confirmed the committee's readiness to welcome thousands of runners who will traverse Sanur's landscape.

The Sanur Bali International Half Marathon 2026 will feature three race categories: 5K, 10K, and 21K (Half Marathon).

Each category is designed to be inclusive, catering to beginner runners to professional athletes, while offering a running experience blended with Bali's natural beauty and atmosphere.

Each category is designed to provide a challenge as well as an enjoyable running experience for all levels, from beginners to professionals.

More than just a competition, this event is hoped to be a celebration of a healthy Lifestyle and a window for promoting Balinese culture to the international world.

"This activity is not merely a competition, but also a celebration of a healthy lifestyle, community togetherness, and promotion of Bali Tourism and culture," he concluded.
