From the heights of Puncak Genting, the hills of Gayo Lues never truly lose their charm. Amidst the traces of flash floods and landslides in late November 2025, this area still holds Nature Tourism potential, slowly breathing life back in.
Puncak Genting stands as one of the Nature Destinations, offering panoramic views of the hills characteristic of Aceh's interior.
Located about 16 kilometers from Blangkejeren, the capital of Gayo Lues Regency, this area is close enough to be accessible for local tourists seeking a brief escape from urban routines.

The owner of Genting AMD, Asmaini, stated that the location she pioneered with her family holds strong appeal for tourists.
“In my opinion, the Tourism Potential here is huge because visitor interest is high. It's just that here, well, I don't know about other places, but at my place, there hasn't been any facility assistance from the local government,” she said.
On the hilltop, Asmaini provides several simple photo spots, small huts for resting while eating and drinking, and plans to develop tourist cottages or homestays.
The concept remains grounded in the natural landscape, giving tourists space to enjoy the hills without excessive distractions.
Before the hydrometeorological disaster hit this region, tourist flow was quite promising. On weekends and National Holidays, visitor numbers could reach 200 people, with an average weekly revenue of around Rp5 million. However, after the disaster, the tourism pulse at Puncak Genting nearly stopped.
Nevertheless, Puncak Genting wasn't completely abandoned. Asmaini kept the tourist site open, even turning it into a humanitarian stopover point during the emergency. In the early post-disaster period, she offered Free Coffee to passing volunteers.
“So that people passing by, tired people, those without funds, can get Free coffee here,” she explained.
For Asmaini, Puncak Genting is more than just a family Business; it's a natural tourism asset that can grow alongside the community and local government.
She hopes for attention from the Gayo Lues Regency Government, especially in the form of destination management training and tourism development cooperation.
“If, for example, we really open this Tourism properly. We build the swimming pool. We make it nice. We could cooperate with the local government, right? The PAD (regional revenue) could be tens of millions,” she hoped.
