First Half Full of Intensity and Quick Goals
Real Madrid immediately played aggressively from the opening whistle. Vinicius Junior became the attacking engine with an early threat through a shot that was still saved by Barcelona goalkeeper Joan Garcia.
Barcelona didn't stand still. Raphinha responded to Madrid's pressure with a shot from the right side, although the ball still went off target. This exchange of pressure finally bore fruit with a goal in the 36th minute. Raphinha performed a brilliant individual action before beating Thibaut Courtois to put Barcelona ahead 1-0.
Madrid responded quickly. In the 45+2 minute, Vinicius Junior showcased his individual quality by dribbling past several Barca players before scoring the equalizer. However, Madrid's lead was short-lived. Two minutes later, Pedri's pass was maximized by Robert Lewandowski into a goal that put Barcelona back in front 2-1.
The first-half drama wasn't over. Real Madrid equalized again in the 45+7 minute through Gonzalo Garcia, who capitalized on a rebound in the penalty box. The 2-2 score closed out a fiercely contested first half.
Raphinha's Decisive Goal and Late Match Tension
Entering the second half, Real Madrid again took the initiative in attack. Vinicius Junior had two golden opportunities, followed by a shot from Rodrygo, but all were thwarted by Joan Garcia, who put in a solid performance under the Barcelona crossbar.
Momentum swung back to Barcelona. In the 73rd minute, Dani Olmo delivered a perfect pass that Raphinha calmly finished. That goal was his second in the match and proved to be the decisive 3-2 lead for Barca.
The situation became tense in the final minutes. Barcelona had to play with 10 men after Frenkie de Jong received a straight red card in the 90+1 minute due to a harsh foul. Real Madrid tried to exploit the numerical advantage to chase an equalizer.
However, until the final whistle blew, Los Blancos' efforts yielded no results. Barcelona successfully held onto their lead and secured the 2026 Spanish Super Cup title.
