Persib Bandung Ensures Their Players' Physical Conditions Are Fully Prepared to Face Arema FC in the 2026 President's Cup tournament.

Persib Bandung will play their opening 2026 President's Cup fixture against Arema FC at Si Jalak Harupat Stadium on Saturday, 25 July 2026. The coaching team has confirmed that the physical condition of all Maung Bandung players has reached the required standard to compete in this pre-season tournament.

According to Persib fitness coach Karlo Reinholz, the squad has demonstrated positive progress throughout the preparation period. He noted that the President's Cup is not just a series of trial matches, meaning both physical and mental readiness must be developed simultaneously.

"The players are in very good condition. We do not have much preparation time for this type of competition. This is an official tournament, it is not the same as friendly matches. At the very least on a psychological level, we must prepare the players to understand this is a proper competitive event. We are here competing to win something," stated Reinholz, as quoted from Persib's official website.

Reinholz explained that starting from the very first training session, the coaching staff combined physical conditioning programmes with tactical drills. This approach is designed so players can master the team's playing system while maintaining consistent intensity for the full duration of matches.

"We prepare the players for a wide range of match situations and scenarios. We have integrated physical conditioning work with football tactical training right from the first practice session. We are working to combine every element that contributes to on-pitch performance," explained the 36-year-old Croatian coach.

He also praised the commitment shown by all players during the preparation phase, including new signings Balsa Sekulic, Luka Menalo, and Gabriel Mutombo.

"From where we stand right now, I am extremely satisfied with the work ethic the players show every day, the level of effort they contribute, and how focused they remain. This has not been easy, as several players travelled very long distances from Europe, Argentina and Brazil to join the squad," he added.

Reinholz acknowledged that the initial training phase presented challenges for a number of players. However over time, the squad has adjusted to the training rhythm, resulting in the entire team now being in increasingly stable condition.

Following the opening match against Arema FC, Maung Bandung are scheduled to face DPMM FC on 28 July, before concluding their group stage campaign against Tampines Rovers FC on 31 July.
