Amid rising tourist interest in nature-based travel and meaningful experiences, a green corner in Lampung is gradually drawing attention. The Deer Conservation Park in Wan Abdul Rachman Grand Forest Park, presented with a fresh face, has transformed into an educational Tourist Destination and Healing trip destination bustling with visitors during the 2025 Year-End Holiday.

The Deer Conservation Park in Wan Abdul Rachman Grand Forest Park, Lampung, became one of the Educational Tourism destinations for the public during the 2025 Year-End Holiday period.

Head of the Lampung Provincial Forestry Service (Dishut), Yanyan Ruchyansyah, stated that there has been a change in the development concept for the Deer Conservation Park at Wan Abdul Rachman Grand Forest Park, Lampung, which reopened on December 11, 2025.

"Currently, the deer conservation park is managed in partnership with the private sector, namely Bungsu Group, and it's being arranged here to function as educational tourism as well as a healing trip," he said in Bandarlampung, Wednesday, December 31, 2025.

The rebranding of this area introduces a new approach. The forest is not merely a backdrop, but a learning space and a recovery space.

Tracking trails, direct interaction with wildlife, and a nature-themed cafe are designed to connect people with nature's slower rhythm.

The Deer Conservation Park at Wan Abdul Rachman Grand Forest Park, with this new concept, became one of the public's tourist destinations, especially during the Year-End Holiday period.

Its attractions include a tracking area to enjoy the freshness of the trees and a nature-themed cafe combined with activities like feeding the deer under Conservation here.

"This is usually what attracts tourists, especially children, to interact directly with the deer," he explained.

The development of this area is carried out gradually and carefully, maintaining a balance between tourism functions and Conservation principles. The managers designed it to still provide economic benefits without eroding the ecological value of the forest area.

He explained that the expansion of development is being done step by step, while still adhering to several conservation regulations within the Wan Abdul Rachman Grand Forest Park (Tahura).

In the future, this educational tourism area will showcase non-timber forest products from forest farmer groups as souvenirs. Wedding areas and picnic areas are also being created.

"Hopefully this becomes one of the new, attractive forest Tourist Destinations, because currently the public is interested in fresh nature-concept tourism, and this can also be one form of optimizing the utilization of regional government assets managed in partnership with the private sector," he added.

For visitors, the main attraction of Farmday Mountainside is not just visual, but the experience of touching, smelling, and feeling nature directly.

"Now we prefer tourist spots with concepts closer to nature because, so far, while working, we just look at our phones, computers; sometimes we need fresh air and trees. For our children, we try to introduce them to animals directly because so far it's only been through screens," said Henny.

She stated that this educational tourism became one of her family's choices for vacationing during the Christmas and year-end holiday period, as it's also not far from the center of Bandarlampung City.

In an increasingly fast and digital world, Farmday Mountainside at Tahura Wan Abdul Rachman offers something simple yet rare. Time slows down, the air is fresh, and it provides a space for families to reconnect with nature while learning to care for it.(ANTARA)
