In the heart of Jakarta South, Ragunan Wildlife Park prepares for one of its busiest moments of the year. The Christmas and New Year 2026 holidays are predicted to once again fill this 140-hectare green space, which serves not only as a recreation area but also as a biodiversity laboratory.

Management of Ragunan Wildlife Park predicts visitor numbers will reach 80,000 during New Year 2026.

"For New Year's, we estimate 80,000 visitors," stated Ragunan Wildlife Park's Public Relations Head Wahyudi Bambang in Jakarta on Thursday, December 25, 2025.

This target references the achievement of 100,000 visitors during New Year 2025, reflecting growing public interest in wildlife education Tourism.

The peak visitor surge is expected on January 1, 2026. This surge also indicates Ragunan remains a Favorite Destination for urban families seeking open spaces, environmental learning, and close encounters with wildlife without leaving the city.

Animal curfew hours (night Zoo) will continue normally on Saturday nights. However, management hasn't set specific visitation targets for these hours.

"Night visits are unpredictable. Our highest record was nearly 5,000 visitors in four hours of operation – from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM WIB," he explained.

Anticipating vehicle surges, management has prepared 10 parking locations within the complex.

"Eastern areas for cars, near the lake, feed storage, animal health center, circling back to the southern gate," he detailed.

Parking capacity accommodates 6,000 cars and 12,000 motorcycles.

Beyond logistics, Ragunan is preparing thematic experiences. Animal feeding sessions will feature special Christmas 2025 and New Year 2026 themes.

Activities will center at Schmutzer Primate Center, giraffe enclosures, Sumatran tiger habitats, hippopotamus areas, pelican aviaries, Sumatran elephant zones, and estuarine crocodile exhibits.

Ragunan Wildlife Park remains open throughout the Nataru Holiday from December 25, 2025 to January 4, 2026, accessible via north and west gates.

Operating hours extend during the Holiday period (6:00 AM - 4:30 PM WIB), longer than regular days.

Through this ANTARA blend of infrastructure readiness, thematic attractions, and long Holiday momentum, Ragunan reaffirms its role as an intersection between humans and wildlife – where the city pauses briefly while learning to protect increasingly rare wild life.
