Indonesian Football closed 2025 with signs of soaring market value for defenders. Two center-backs from the Indonesian National Team recorded the most striking market value increases.
The two players experiencing market value growth at the end of 2025 were Jay Idzes and Rizky Ridho.
This data confirms one crucial point. The role of Indonesian defenders is no longer merely complementary but has become high-value assets in both global and domestic markets.

Transfermarkt released market values for late 2025. Several Indonesian National Team players saw increases, but Jay Idzes particularly stood out.
In June 2025, the Sassuolo defender's market value was €7.5 million, now reaching €10 million or approximately Rp197 billion.
This surge solidifies Idzes as the most expensive player in the Garuda squad. Notably, despite his sharp rise, the composition of Indonesia's top five most valuable players remains stable.
Behind Idzes are Kevin Diks (€5 million), Mees Hilgers (€4 million), Emil Audero (€3.2 million), and Calvin Verdonk (€3 million).
At the domestic level, positive news also came from the defensive core of Persija Jakarta. Rizky Ridho also recorded an increase, though on a smaller scale than Idzes.
The Persija Jakarta defender's market value rose by €100 thousand to €650 thousand or around Rp12.8 billion.
Ridho's increase demonstrates that consistency at both club and national team levels remains crucial for building local players' reputations.
Beyond these two main names, several Super League players also saw market value increases, though some experienced declines.
Super League players with rising values include Nadeo Argawinata and Yakob Sayuri (both €400 thousand), though Thom Haye still holds the highest at €1 million.
Meanwhile, Maarten Paes and Ole Romeny saw their market values drop to €1 million and €1.5 million respectively.
Overall, this late 2025 market value update reveals a new trend. Indonesian National Team defenders are no longer just silent workers in the backline but high-value commodities in the modern football market.
Jay Idzes' surge past Rp197 billion and Rizky Ridho's domestic-level increase signify that Indonesia's defensive quality is gaining broader recognition – not just on the field but in market value.
