The Government of Lamandau Regency, Central Kalimantan, has officially launched its latest tourism logo and tagline titled Lamandau Exotic Borneo. This move signals the serious intent of this region at the heart of Kalimantan Island to elevate itself as an alternative tourism destination, not just nationally but internationally.

Amidst the growing trend of nature-based, cultural, and authentic experiences favored by younger generations, Lamandau recognizes significant opportunities. The area offers a blend of pristine tropical forest landscapes, exotic rivers, and Dayak cultural richness largely untouched by mass tourism.

“Lamandau Exotic Borneo embodies this potential. This isn't merely a tagline but our commitment to deliver truly exotic and authentic travel experiences in Borneo's heartland,” stated Lamandau Regent Rizky Aditya Putra in Nanga Bulik on Monday, December 15, 2025.

The tagline wasn't created overnight. Lamandau Exotic Borneo resulted from collaboration between the Lamandau Regency Government (particularly its Tourism Office), the Regional Tourism Promotion Board (BPPD) of Lamandau Regency, and various other stakeholders. This joint effort demonstrates the region's dedication to building a strong, sustainable tourism identity.

For adventure-seeking young travelers, Lamandau presents a “hidden gem” concept now in high demand. The region boasts preserved forests, natural waterfalls, and river routes ideal for nature trekking. Beyond this, direct interaction with local communities and Dayak traditions offers added value rarely found in mainstream destinations.

Rizky emphasized Lamandau's extraordinary natural and cultural wealth. He asserted this potential requires proper narrative packaging to attract tourists while generating tangible economic impact for local communities.

Tourism development is expected not only to draw visitors but also to establish a sustainable local business ecosystem.

Meanwhile, Lamandau BPPD Chairman Mickey Rian Juanda explained that the logo and tagline selection underwent thorough analysis. Numerous discussions and inputs from diverse parties ensured this new identity genuinely represents Lamandau's character.

The new Lamandau Exotic Borneo logo is open-access and freely usable by both the public and media. This policy is strategically vital for expanding promotional reach, especially in the digital era where visual content and travel narratives significantly influence destination choices.

The Lamandau Regency Government and BPPD hope this fresh tourism identity will position tourism as a key economic driver. Through stronger branding, Lamandau targets inclusion on the radar of travelers seeking anti-mainstream, eco-friendly destinations rich in cultural value.

“The Exotic Borneo tagline was chosen to spotlight Lamandau's unique, untouched appeal, offering alternatives for tourists seeking experiences beyond conventional destinations,” he remarked.

Furthermore, Mickey detailed that the core objectives of launching the logo and tagline include boosting both domestic and international tourist visits. Lamandau is also opening investment opportunities in accommodation, local transportation, and community-based tourism services.

For travel-loving younger generations, Lamandau Exotic Borneo answers the call to explore unspoiled, crowd-free destinations brimming with authentic stories. With increasingly refined branding, Lamandau now positions itself as an adventure destination worthy of inclusion in future travel bucket lists.
