Erick affirmed that this year's SEA Games is the foundation for formulating a long-term roadmap for national sports.
"The 2025 SEA Games in Thailand will certainly be our evaluation material for Kemenpora to maintain the medal targets as expected by the President, where the Olympics are the main goal, followed by the SEA Games and Asian Games as targets. We must prepare for this from today," he said.
As part of this grand strategy, the government has designated 21 priority sports branches deemed most potential for achieving international success.
"The President has designated 21 priority sports branches. We at Kemenpora continue to evaluate the seriousness of these 21 branches, as well as others committed to medal targets for Indonesia today or in the future," explained Erick.
He also stressed the importance of more modern and structured planning.
