Persija Jakarta will face Persik Kediri in the continuation of the BRI Super League 2025/2026 at Manahan Stadium, Surakarta, Thursday, November 20, 2025. The Macan Kemayoran squad carries a crucial mission to extend their winning streak.

With the established cohesion and momentum, Coach Mauricio Souza targets three points to keep chasing Borneo FC closely at the top of the table.

Persija's positive trend started with a 3-1 victory over Persebaya Surabaya on October 18. Since then, their performance has consistently improved, recording three wins: 1-0 against Madura United, 3-1 when hosting PSBS Biak, and 2-1 at Arema FC's home ground.

Souza firmly emphasized his team's ambition.

"We have a clear objective for the match. Of course, we want to get three points. And this is what we hope to achieve tomorrow (today -ed)," he stated.

This winning streak has propelled Persija to second place with 23 points, trailing seven points behind Borneo FC.

Playing in Solo, But Ambition Remains Jakartan

This match should have been played in Jakarta. However, after a music concert left the pitch at Jakarta International Stadium inadequate, Persija has again relocated to Manahan.

"Of course we want to play in Jakarta. At our stadium with our supporters. But we understand the situation and are very pleased to come to Solo," said Souza.

This isn't the first time. When hosting PSBS Biak in late October, Persija's home match was also moved to the same venue.

Persik Cannot Be Underestimated

In the standings, Persik is quite far behind, sitting in 13th place with 12 points. However, Souza knows that in football, statistics aren't everything.

"Persik builds strong teams every year. Technically, Persik is very solid. A well-organized team. That will certainly force us to work hard tomorrow; we must be fully focused," he explained.

Persija isn't at full strength either. Allano Souza is suspended, while Ryo Matsumura and Gustavo Almeida are still recovering. Nevertheless, the remaining squad is reportedly ready to play.

Off the pitch, Souza gave light but proud appreciation for Rizky Ridho's goal against Arema FC, which is nominated for the FIFA Puskás Award.

"Everyone will vote for him (Rizky Ridho) to win, so he can attend the ceremony. The most beautiful goal is the Puskás goal. It was fortunate, but he scored a fantastic goal," he concluded.
