The roar of engines echoed under Bahrain's golden sky. The adrenaline-fueled circuit once again witnessed Sean Gelael's long journey in the 2025 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC).

Though not the most perfect season finale, finishing ninth in the 8 Hours of Bahrain held great significance for Sean and his United Autosports 95 team, especially after eight hours of uncompromising battle.

Endurance racing isn't just about speed, but resilience. At Bahrain International Circuit, Sean and teammates Darren Leung and Marino Sato faced a grueling day. Challenges emerged immediately - starting 11th, Leung lost positions at launch, plummeting to P17.

"A tough day for both our LMGT3 cars. Car 95 finished P9, Car 59 finished P16. Not the ending we wanted," United Autosports stated officially.

Behind that message lay a story of patience and strategy. When Sean took the wheel, circumstances remained unfavorable. Though a Virtual Safety Car (VSC) offered hope, a drive-through penalty for procedure violations evaporated their momentum.

Yet Sean's calm, consistent driving under extreme pressure proved crucial. He clawed back to P13 before the final handover to Marino Sato. When another Safety Car emerged due to BMW Hypercar 15's incident, United Autosports 95's bold strategy to stay out instead of pitting paid off - elevating them to P9 at the checkered flag.

Three Points Beyond Numbers

While ninth place may escape headlines, Bahrain's three points sweetened their season finale. Car 95 amassed 43 points - equal to sister car United Autosports 59, but clinched higher standings thanks to their spectacular Lone Star Le Mans victory last September.

Two major targets - team points record and top-nine LMGT3 finish - remained unmet. Yet securing 11th overall in WEC's final standings signifies no failure. Instead, it confirms United Autosports' continued strength in fiercely competitive GT3 racing.

Ferrari Reclaims Glory, Manthey 92 Unstoppable

The 2025 season also made history: Ferrari reclaimed the Hypercar constructors' world championship for the first time since 1972. In LMGT3, Manthey 92 secured back-to-back titles.

Amid this dominance, Sean Gelael's perseverance captivated Indonesian racing fans. He doesn't just carry Indonesia's name in elite endurance racing - he embodies the consistency and determination rarely seen at this level.

For many, racing is mere competition. But for Sean, every track is a journey: from Bahrain's heat to Austin's coolness, paddock to podium. Every kilometer tells of dreams, grit, and courage to persist despite unpredictable outcomes.

With WEC 2025 concluded, Sean now prepares for the next season with renewed resolve. Because in racing, every finish line is just the starting point of the next challenge.
