Real Madrid Must Settle For Disappointment, Bayern Munich Confirm Michael Olise Is Not For Sale!

Bayern Munich have reaffirmed their commitment to retain Michael Olise during the 2026 summer transfer window. Despite persistent links to Real Madrid, the Bundesliga giants have confirmed that the winger will not be sold.

Bayern Munich Sporting Director Christoph Freund has dismissed all circulating rumours regarding the 24-year-old player's future. He stressed that Olise remains a critical part of the club's plans for the upcoming season.

"This is absolutely not a matter of concern for us. We are glad Michael has returned from his holiday break. He will play a vital role for FC Bayern this season, just as he did last term," stated Bayern Sporting Director Christoph Freund, in remarks quoted by French Football News on Sunday, 26 July 2026.

This official statement put an end to speculation that had circulated throughout July. Multiple European media outlets had previously reported that Real Madrid were monitoring Olise's situation and were interested in bringing him to the Santiago Bernabéu. Reports had even emerged that the player was open to the possibility of pursuing a career in La Liga.

Bayern Munich, however, have stood firm on their position. Club management confirmed that Olise remains part of the team's long-term project, especially as his existing contract remains valid until 2029.

Bayern's faith in Olise is not unfounded. Since joining the club from Crystal Palace in 2024, the French international has developed into one of the side's core wide players. Over two seasons representing Die Roten, he has registered 42 goals and 54 assists across all competitions.

This consistent productivity has established Michael Olise as one of the most dangerous right wingers currently active in Europe.

His outstanding form also continued with the France national team at the 2026 World Cup. During the third place playoff match against England, Olise provided two assists, both of which were converted into goals by Kylian Mbappé.

With those contributions, Olise concluded the tournament with a total of seven assists. This tally set a new all-time record for the most assists recorded by a single player in one edition of the FIFA World Cup.

This achievement surpassed the previous record of six assists set by Pelé at the 1970 World Cup. Olise also overtook Diego Maradona's mark of five assists, recorded at the 1990 World Cup.

Despite this historic individual milestone, Olise was unable to help France secure third place. Les Bleus ultimately finished the tournament in fourth position, following a dramatic 4-6 defeat against England in the 2026 World Cup third place playoff.
