Spending the weekend in Jakarta has nowadays become synonymous with shopping tourism. The capital city is once again hosting a wide variety of engaging events, ranging from music concerts, art exhibitions, book festivals, to educational activities for children.

Through its official Instagram account @disparekrafdki, the DKI Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Agency (Disparekraf) has released a list of recommended activities for the weekend break. Some of these events can even be attended completely free of charge.

Five Weekend Events in Jakarta 

1. Beatles Tribute: The FAB FOUR Live in Jakarta

For fans of 1960s music, this Beatles tribute performance is a perfect opportunity to reminisce with the legendary discography of The Beatles.

This event will run at Nafiri Convention Hall, Central Park Mall from 08.00 to 20.00 WIB. Visitors are required to obtain tickets before attending the show.

2. Bernadya - Album Showcase

Live music remains one of this weekend's main attractions, headlined by Bernadya's official album showcase.

Bernadya will perform at Gelora Bung Karno Indoor Tennis Stadium. Fans planning to attend must purchase their tickets prior to arriving at the venue.

3. TIM Book Fest

For book lovers, TIM Book Fest offers the chance to browse and collect interesting reading materials while enjoying a relaxed weekend atmosphere.

This book festival is held at the 3rd Floor Co-Working Space, Ali Sadikin Building, Taman Ismail Marzuki (TIM) with free public entry, making it an ideal outing for families and university students alike.

4. Tropical Aliens by Eko Nugroho

Fine art enthusiasts may visit this exhibition by renowned Indonesian artist Eko Nugroho at Nadi Gallery, open daily 10.00 - 17.00 WIB.

The exhibition showcases artworks created by the artist between 2024 and 2026.

Featuring imaginative creature concepts inspired by animated cinema, this exhibition will run until 2 August 2026 and has no admission fee.

5. Waste Sorting Education Festival

For families seeking educational weekend activities, this waste management festival is an excellent choice.

This event guides families and children to learn about proper waste segregation through fun interactive activities.

It will be held at Lokomotif Plaza, Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) from 07.00 to 13.00 WIB.

All these varied options provide great alternatives for a short holiday break without having to travel outside the capital city.
