Inter Miami are reported to be targeting Casemiro in the 2026 summer transfer window. Should this move go through, the former Manchester United and Real Madrid midfielder will line up alongside Lionel Messi in Major League Soccer (MLS).
According to an ESPN report published Thursday, negotiations between Inter Miami and Casemiro are already at an advanced stage. The Brazilian defensive midfielder is set to join on a free transfer once his contract with Manchester United expires on 30 June 2026.
This transfer could prove to be one of the most high-profile moves in MLS during the upcoming summer window.

Casemiro, who established himself as one of Europe's elite defensive midfielders over many years, is in line to become part of Inter Miami's ambitious project.
Should an agreement be finalised, Casemiro will arrive during MLS' secondary transfer window, which runs from 13 July to 2 September 2026.
The Florida-based club has been monitoring the 34-year-old player's situation for an extended period.
Interest in Casemiro from the club owned by David Beckham first emerged earlier this year.
Alongside Inter Miami, LA Galaxy and Saudi Arabian side Al-Ittihad have also registered interest in signing the Brazil National Team player.
The report notes that both Inter Miami and LA Galaxy first made contact with Casemiro back in March, though no formal transfer proposals had been submitted at that time.
Out of all available options, Inter Miami is understood to be Casemiro's preferred destination to continue his playing career.
However, obstacles remain that could derail this transfer. Inter Miami currently has no vacant Designated Player (DP) slots, with all allocated positions already filled by Lionel Messi, Rodrigo De Paul, and German Berterame.
This situation will force Inter Miami to seek alternative arrangements if they wish to sign Casemiro on a non-DP contract. Additionally, the club must also resolve the discovery rights dispute with LA Galaxy.
Under official MLS regulations, every club may register a maximum of five players on their discovery list. The club that first registers a player holds exclusive priority negotiating rights for that player.
LA Galaxy are confirmed to hold Casemiro's discovery rights, meaning Inter Miami cannot finalise any transfer for the player without first entering formal negotiations with the Los Angeles club.
Amidst the transfer rumours linking him to MLS, Casemiro remains a core figure for Brazil's international setup. He has been named in the Brazil Squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
