Shakira is once again part of the biggest stage in World Football. The Colombian singer has revealed the song titled "Dai Dai" as the official FIFA World Cup 2026 song, to be held in the United States, Mexico, and Canada. She performs it alongside Nigerian musician Burna Boy.

Shakira's presence on the official song of the four-yearly tournament underscores her long-standing connection with the World Cup atmosphere.

After success with several iconic anthems in previous editions, the "Waka Waka" singer is back with a fresh vibe, blending African, Latin, and urban rhythms.

Shakira first teased a snippet of the song via her personal social media account, @shakira, on Friday, May 8. In her post, she confirmed the song will be officially released on May 14.

"From the Maracanã Stadium, this is 'Dai Dai' @fifaworldcup Official Song 2026. Coming 5/14. We ready @burnaboygram," wrote Shakira in her Instagram post on Thursday, May 7 local time.

According to Colombian media reports, "Dai Dai" combines Spanish and English lyrics with energetic Music, designed to build the party atmosphere for World Football

The song's title comes from an Italian expression meaning "come on, come on!" – a rallying cry synonymous with competitive spirit and supporter chants in stadiums.

For football fans, Shakira's involvement in the World Cup is nothing new. She has provided the soundtrack for three previous editions of the tournament, starting with "Hips Don't Lie" for the FIFA World Cup 2006 in Germany

Her name became further cemented in football through the song "Waka Waka" for the FIFA World Cup 2010 in South Africa, before returning with "La La La" for the FIFA World Cup 2014 in Brazil.

The music video for "Dai Dai" was filmed at Maracanã Stadium, the legendary venue that stands as one of World Football's symbols.

In the video snippet, Shakira appears surrounded by dancers in bright colors, reminiscent of Brazilian Samba team costumes.

The collaboration with Burna Boy also brings a fresh touch to the official World Cup 2026 song.

The blend of Latin and Afrobeat musical styles is seen as reflecting the cultural diversity of the host countries while portraying football as a universal language uniting millions of fans worldwide.
