Persib Bandung secured a dramatic 3-2 victory over Bali United in matchweek 27 of the BRI Super League 2025/26. The intense clash at Gelora Bandung Lautan Api Stadium (GBLA) on Sunday night, April 12, 2026 (WIB), featured fierce competition until the final whistle.
Persib's coach, Bojan Hodak, revealed the match unfolded as he predicted – a tightly contested duel. However, he noted his team held an advantageous position before the game shifted due to a second-half red card.
Persib dominated early and took the lead, but momentum swung when Patricio Matricardi received a second yellow card in the 66th minute, forcing Maung Bandung to play with 10 men.

"We were actually in control before that red card incident," stated the Croatian coach.
According to Hodak, with equal numbers, Persib had clear opportunities to seal victory earlier, especially after establishing a two-goal advantage.
The situation reversed when Persib lost a player. Bali United capitalized on their numerical superiority to intensify attacks.
"When they had the extra player and our energy dwindled, we eventually conceded," he explained.
Despite pressure, Hodak praised his players' fighting spirit for holding firm until the end.
Persib opened the scoring through Ramon Tanque (29'), doubled the lead via Luciano Guaycochea (55'), and secured the win with Federico Barba's decisive goal (87').
Bali United mounted a fierce comeback with Teppei Yachida's goal (81') and Jordi Bruijn's strike in injury time (90+3').
These three crucial points keep Persib Bandung's title hopes alive. They currently lead the Standings with 64 points, four points ahead of closest rivals Borneo FC.
