The outcome of the FIFA Series 2026 not only determined the Champion on the field but also triggered shifts and in some cases stagnation in the world rankings. For the Indonesian National Team, the tournament results weren't strong enough to lift their position in the FIFA Ranking.

Indonesia concluded the tournament with one win and one loss. After a convincing 4-0 victory over St Kitts & Nevis in the semifinals, the Garuda's journey halted in the final following a 0-1 defeat to Bulgaria at Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium, Jakarta, on March 30, 2026.

As reported on FIFA's official website, the tournament didn't change Indonesia's ranking. With 1144.88 points, Indonesia remains in 122nd position as of April 1.

Bulgaria Rises One Level

Conversely, the final victory gave Bulgaria positive momentum. The Eastern European team climbed one spot from 87th to 86th with 1278.90 points.

Not only Bulgaria, but St Kitts & Nevis also enjoyed a ranking boost after securing third place. With 1036.33 points, they rose two levels from 154th to 152nd.

Meanwhile, the Solomon Islands faced a bitter reality. Two consecutive defeats, including a crushing 2-10 loss to Bulgaria, dropped them one spot to 153rd with 1031.89 points.

Southeast Asian Landscape: Thailand and Vietnam Lead

In Southeast Asia, Thailand and Vietnam remain the region's top two powers within the world's top 100.

Thailand rose three places from 96th to 93rd with 1252.14 points, while Vietnam surged significantly to 99th position, jumping nine spots from their previous 108th place with 1225.68 points.

This situation confirms that although Indonesia shows progress on the field, consistent results remain key to breaking into the regional top tier, let alone competing globally.

At the top level, changes also occurred. France now leads the FIFA Ranking as of April 1, pushing Spain to second place.
