Manchester United could pay compensation up to £15.9 million or approximately IDR 359 billion to Ruben Amorim. The Portuguese manager was sacked by MU following a 1-1 draw against Leeds United and deteriorating internal club conditions.
Cited from The Athletic, when Amorim left the club, some reports indicated MU paid around £10 million or IDR 226 billion in compensation to Amorim and his staff. However, MU's second-quarter financial reports suggest this figure could increase.
The club recorded a £15.9 million provision. This reserve represents the maximum potential future payment to be recognized at the end of the financial year.

This figure has sparked speculation about the financial impact of mid-season managerial decisions.
Additionally, MU wrote off £6.3 million from the remaining contract fees previously paid to Amorim's former club, Sporting CP, after his November 2024 appointment.
This accounting move further highlights the costly nature of the short-lived tactical experiment.
Initial second-quarter financial reports released on Wednesday only covered the period until December 31, thus not yet detailing settlements with Amorim and his staff.
This means the final amount actually paid remains subject to discussion until the end of the fiscal year.
New Era at Old Trafford
After sacking Amorim, MU appointed Michael Carrick as replacement until the end of the 2025/2026 Season.
So far Carrick has secured five wins from six matches in the Premier League.
This positive performance slightly eased public pressure, but the shadow of hundreds of billions in compensation remains a significant footnote in the club's season.
Amid efforts to return to title-winning ways, MU must bear the financial consequences of this expensive managerial change.
