Persib Bandung management has taken firm action following the riots that occurred during the match against Ratchaburi FC on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at Gelora Bandung Lautan Api Stadium (GBLA), Bandung City. As part of the evaluation, the southern grandstand has been officially temporarily closed.
This decision was announced by Deputy CEO of PT Persib Bandung Bermartabat, Adhitia Putra Herawan. The closure takes effect when Persib hosts Persita Tangerang on Sunday (22/2) and will continue indefinitely.
"To prevent similar incidents from recurring, we've decided to temporarily close the southern grandstand and western-south VIP (VBS) sectors D and E," stated Adhitia in an official release received in Bandung, Sunday, February 22, 2026.

This measure was taken after several incidents during the previous match. Some supporters were reported to have climbed boundary fences, thrown objects onto the field, set off fireworks, and entered the pitch.
According to Adhitia, the match indeed took place in a highly emotional atmosphere. International competitions bring high expectations from all supporting elements, but safety remains the top priority.
"Football should remain a positive, safe, and proud space for all parties," emphasized Adhitia.
He affirmed that the spirit of bobotoh (loyal supporters) has always been a tremendous energy source for Persib. Therefore, management invites all supporters to demonstrate mature and responsible support to uphold the club's dignity.
In addition to the grandstand closure, management is conducting a comprehensive evaluation of match operations at GBLA.
"Simultaneously, we're also performing thorough internal evaluations and investigations regarding match organization aspects," he said.
This step is expected to become an improvement momentum so future Persib matches can proceed safely, orderly, and conducive without diminishing the characteristic bobotoh support atmosphere at GBLA Stadium.
