Bogor - The 2026 World Cup does not only bring major changes through its new 48-participant format, but also introduces a visual identity distinct from all previous tournament editions.

For the first time in history, FIFA has launched three official mascots simultaneously as a symbol of collaboration between the three host nations: the United States, Mexico, and Canada.

These three mascots are Clutch, an eagle representing the United States; Zayu, a jaguar serving as Mexico's symbol; and Maple, a moose native to Canada.

According to FIFA, all three were designed to reflect the culture, character, and natural wealth of each respective country, while carrying a message of unity for the largest World Cup ever held in history.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino stated that Clutch, Zayu and Maple form a core part of the 2026 World Cup festivities. These three mascots also make history as the first ever FIFA mascots available as playable characters in the official licensed FIFA game, FIFA Heroes.

This innovation is part of FIFA's efforts to expand the fan experience, not only inside stadiums, but also across digital spaces.

Alongside discussion of the new mascots, public attention has also been drawn to Lamine Yamal. The Spanish wonderkid once again stole the spotlight after making his sixth 2026 World Cup appearance as La Furia Roja knocked Belgium out of the quarter finals.

The 19 year old player has become one of the most consistent figures in the Spain squad. As of the end of the quarter final stage, Yamal has recorded 510 minutes of play, scored one goal, and operated as the driving force of Spain's attack from the right flank.

His goal against Saudi Arabia during the group stage also cemented his status as one of the youngest goalscorers to leave their mark on modern World Cup history.

Yamal's influence is not only visible in statistics. His dribbling ability, courage in one-on-one duels, and creativity in opening up space have made Spain's attacking line far more dynamic.

Head coach Luis de la Fuente's full trust in the young player is reflected in his high playing minutes, with Yamal now established as one of the central figures in Spain's run to the semi-finals.

Next, Spain are scheduled to face France in a match predicted to be one of the most exciting fixtures of the 2026 World Cup.

Yamal will once again have the chance to add to his collection of records, while bringing his nation one step closer to the world championship title.
